BOOT PARADE 2012

The highlight of the Amsterdam Gay Pride Canal Parade is the famous Amsterdam canals on Saturday, August 6 at 14:00 and 18:00 hours.

On the boat parade can participate up to 80 boats of which 77 with a raffle from elected in March 2011. There were over 160 entries.
The organizer has asked for a festive design on the boat.

In recent years, some boats where more small cruise boats with sitting tourists without decoration of a show and were the visitors along the canals the attraction .

The first Gay Pride in The Netherlands took place on August 3, 1996 on the Amsterdam canals. This was a great success and became an annual gay event.

During the famous canalparade cardriving on the Prinsengracht, Amstel, Reguliersdwarstraat are not possible and tram lines 9 + 14 to Rembrandtplein has been re-routed .

renewed gaybar Eve, Havana and Ludwig 2
The Reguliersdwarsstraat will be back on a July 21 celebration.
In the famous Amsterdam nightlife gay-street will open the renewed gaybar Eve, Havana and Ludwig 2 their doors simultaneously.
DJ's Coen en Sander show to kick off the new gay Gay Amsterdam with their special mix 100.
The grand reopening will begin at noon at 17 hours and continue until the early hours.

With the opening of new bars , the closing of the old bars of Sjoerd Kooistra is over.

Reguliersdwarsstraat in 2011
Reguliersdwarsstraat is (or was?) the trendiest gay-entertainment street in Amsterdam and surroundings even abroad.

In 2009 and 2010 in the street several gay bars have to close doors.

In the year 2011 will probablythe year that several bars will have a reopening ,with the question of it will still a gaybar.

The last business closed on January 1 was Downtown, a small lunchroom, located in the oldest building in Amsterdam.

We'll see if the wild 80 years will be comes back in the gay street in 2011.

April Bar and Exit open on Gaypride
A number of known gay bars in Reguliersdwarsstraat recently closed in Amsterdam will be open as usual during the Gay Pride.
April and Exit Bar and club closed its doors recently after problems with payments to the Heineken brewery.
Bar April was even partially closed (only the front).
After consultation with Heineken to temporarily reopen the bars the bars will be open as usual from 30 july to 8 aug.
For Bar Soho would soon shut down after gaypride.

Reguliersdwarsstraat is the center of Amsterdam's gay scene alongside the Warmoesstraat,
but by the closure of a number of gay bars in this street lost Reguliersdwarsstraat that attraction.

Amsterdam Pride is Comming
From 1 to 7 aug.2010 there is the Amsterdam Pride with many large and small-scale activities, meetings and many parties and street parties.
The big party weekend program of the Amsterdam Gay Pride 2010, Thursday, August 5 will started on a boat with ProGay-chairman Frank van Dalen.

Amsterdam Gay Pride is held annually since 1996 during the first weekend of August. The highlight is the unique parade of boats through the canals, or Canal Parade.

Furthermore, there are street parties on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the various entertainment venues for gay men in Amsterdam such as Amstel, Reguliersdwarsstraat, Zeedijk.
Sadly this year a number of gay bars will no longer participate because of recent closures.
It is often stated that Reguliersdwarsstraat its appeal is lost.

Every year several hundred thousand visitors at this event, and is therefore one of the most popular public events in the Netherlands.
Many (gay) hotels are already fully booked in the Centre downtown but outside the center, there are still rooms free
